OK here are my stats. I feel very ashamed about my weight and I never tell anyone in RL exactly how much I weigh, but I trust you guys ;o)

Name: Ruby
Age: 32
Beginning Weight: 116.5 kg (256.8 lb)
Short term goal: To get below 110 kg (242.5 lb)
Long term goal: To be able to do all the things I love again - dancing, rock climbing, hiking - as well as try some new things. Plus, if I can get below 70 kg (154.3) again I'll be ecstatic :o)

EDIT: Pic link is now working.
Here's a pic (bit blurry, sorry) of me taken in September last year.

At the moment I am aware that I'm clinically obese and that my health is in serious danger. Plus, I think my knees are ruined already and sometimes I find it difficult to walk further than to the tram stop.

I have serious emotional issues with food. My mom was always overweight when I was small, and I know I got my bad body image in part from her anxiety and dissatisfaction with her body. Learnt behaviours, etc.

Anyway I am going to a wedding on Saturday and yesterday found a lovely feminine blouse to wear. I'd like to be a bit less bloaty though by then so will start making a few changes from today. Herbal tea more often, water instead of juice and cut out the sugar and bread. And trying to eat more regularly.

Name: Hayley

Age: 23

Weight: Approx 17 stone. (last time i was weighed was in June and i weighed 16 st 13lb)

Goals: To get down to about 10 stone or dress size 12/14 (don't wanna be any less coz it wouldn't suit my frame...i follow females on dad's side...big thighs, curvy hips, sticky out bum) My neice follows it too and she's slim and takes size 12 and has a lovely figure...i'll be happy with that!

Why: I have Poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and doctor said i'd need to lose weight to increase my chances of it correcting itself plus i'd increase chances of getting pregnant (dont want kids just yet but would like to be slim before i have them)Also, i want to be able to have more energy and not need as much sleep. Ive heard the heavier you are the more sleep you need and i sleep too much for my liking. Also just want to be able to do things without getting breathless!

How: I did join slimming world but gave up after few wks. I lost half a stone in 2 weeks there and i enjoyed the food plan. I will start it again plus my boyfriend wants to lose weight too so we can encourage each other and becoma gym buddies.

Here's 2 pics of me:

name: Muffin
age: 20
current weight: 185lbs.. and I’m stupid so I have no idea what that is in kg/stone
goal: not be fat.. .. like lose 45-60lbs
why: I’m fat.. and ugly.. I hate myself and my body.. and maybe if I lose some waight then I might get pretty.. or atleast get correctional surgery.. and maybe *hopefully* my boobs will shrink and it’ll help with my back problems.. and this way I wont want to stab myself in the eyes with a fork whenever I accidentally get a peek @ myself in a mirror..
how: well I’ve reciently joined a gym that I’ve been going to about 3-4 times a week.. and I normally eat pretty healthy but I’m trying to cut down on my carbs and cout out ALL bad/sugary foods..

beware.. ugly inside..

these photo’s should be able to inspire EVERYONE to loose waight and gain pretty!!

*shudder* MeCollapse )

[Current Mood |determined]

Name: Andrea

Age: 27

Weight: 72 kg / 158 lb / 11.3 stone

Goal: getting back to 62kg / 137 lb / 9.7 stone

Why: because I gained those 10 kg in 2005 and really want them gone again - there was so much going on that I didn't pay attention to my weight much. Also, I have back problems and getting rid of the 10 kg will help. And I want to be able to walk up 4 flights of stairs and still talk again, darn it. And doing so much presentation and re-presentation work on stage and my business clothes don't really fit me now. And I have no money for new ones. So... *sigh*

How: I haven't done anything diet-y before, but I think I will start by cutting out all sugared drinks (coke etc) and switching to sweetened stuff or tea with sweetener, plus cutting fried food out of my diet. Also, go swimming 2 times a week after work would be good. Doesn't have to be much, but even ten laps will help. I plan on taking all my between-meals snacks to the office tomorrow to leave them in the pot-luck box for others to eat. I'll hate it, but it will be good for me. And I'll buy some carrots. Is there a method to this madness? I don't think so. And I hope I can stick with half of this.

A tip that works for me... [Jan. 2nd, 2006|12:14 am]

even though nothing to do with food or exercise!

One of the things that really depresses me about being so overweight is the not being able to find nice clothes (and even if I did, they wouldn't hang properly on me). So clothes shopping is always a torment, and I don't like the fact that I can't express myself the way I want to through the way I dress. I just end up always buying what fits (or fits least badly ;o) and is comfy rather than what looks remotely good.

However, if you can find clothes in colours that suit you then I find it makes you feel ten times better, even if the fit or cut isn't the best. And you get compliments.

I'll post my stats etc as soon as I can find some suitable pics! :o)

Name: Line
Age: 25
Weight: 238,3 lbs/108,1 kg/17 stone
Why: Health mainly. I have a bad knee from figure skating, and being overweight doesn't help. Plus, I hate being fat basically, I've been overweight pretty much since I was born.

I've lost 11,24 lbs/5,1 kg/0,8 stone so far, by going to Weight Watchers. I've lost weight before by taking prescription diet pills, and they worked liek a charm...until I stopped taking them. I've also tried pretty much every other diet there is, but they haven't worked, so I'm really liking WW. Plus, I'm not starving, and I can still eat chocolate every once in a while! lol

So yeah...that's me. :)

Goals: Short term, I wanna get below 100 kgs. Long term: 70 kgs

You can find a few pictures of me here:

Welcome ladies!

So we all have the same goal in mind, to lose some pounds/kilos/stones and be healthier. How are we going to do this?

I've tried Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers, Slimming World and the Caggage Soup Diet amongst others over the years. They all work in the short term (apart from Slimming World which didnt work at all for me) but I tend to get bored and give up after 2 or 3 weeks. I'm not sure whether to go this alone or try to follow a set diet. I have food allergies, mostly fruit and veg which makes things difficult when dieting as you can imagine.

If you've tried something that works, let us know, if you're having a bad week and just want some support, just ask for it. Found some good low fat recipes? Great, share them.

My mum was a Weight Watchers leader for 8 years and I helped her out with her classes for quite a long time so I do know quite a lot of stuff in theory, it's just putting it into practice that's hard.

Anyway, good luck all, here's to a new us in the new year!
